Plantation Rum already sports one of our favorite lineups, and the brand just added a new expression to the mix. Plantation Original Dark Rum is a blend of rums from Trinidad and Tobago. It’s first aged in its home country before moving to France, where it’s aged again — this time in toasted Cognac Ferrand French oak casks. All that means lots of flavor, but it maintains a very affordable price tag at just $17.99. Find it on store shelves later this month.

Glenfiddich Releases Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve
Glenfiddich has announced their new Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve (pictured), which is exclusively aged for 19 years in American oak casks. Malt Master Brian Kinsman describes this spirit as having a balance between “spicy sweetness and rich, dried fruit flavors. Its nose consists of toffee and deep citrus notes, balanced by dry, faint smoky notes of oak. The taste is complex and layered with vanilla, fine leather and tobacco, which develops a sweet, velvety mouth feel enhanced by spicy hints of cardamom and nutmeg, which fade slowly into a warm and long finish.” Sounds good to us. Find it nationally this fall for $149.99.

Introducing Tullamore D.E.W Phoenix
Tullamore D.E.W., makers of some solid Irish whiskeys, recently unveiled a limited edition dram dubbed Tullamore D.E.W. Phoenix. It blends pot still, malt and grain whiskeys into a cohesive expression, and it’s finished for two years in Sherry casks for a bit of added smoothness. Tullamore D.E.W. Phoenix clocks in at 55% ABV. It’s available nationally this fall for a suggested retail price of $54.99.

Some $4,500 Macallan
In more Scotch whiskey news, The Macallan has released M by the Macallan, one of the richest and rarest whiskies ever pulled from The Macallan’s Spanish oak sherry casks. Only 1,750 bottles are available, with only 355 designated for the U.S. It’s packaged in a fancy Lalique crystal decanter, so don’t drop it.
