The Cherry Orchard comes courtesy of Del Pedro, a bartender at Tooker Alley in NYC. Tooker Alley is located near the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, which features cherry blossoms each spring. Hence the name of this drink.
The cocktail contains a full 1.25 ounces of Kirschwasser, a cherry eau de vie (clear fruit brandy) that’s typically used sparingly in cocktails or consumed neat before or after dinner. In this case, it’s mixed with two different Marasca cherry liqueurs for a full-flavored cherry drinking experience. Add some citrus and 100 proof Applejack, and you’ve got a stout but refreshing drink for spring.
