Bright Eyed Fizz

We’re drinking a lot of rum these days, and because it’s summer, we’ve mostly been sticking to lighter-style rums for daiquiris and other similar cocktails. But lately, we’ve been playing with our bottle of Ron Zacapa 23, a delicious rum from Guatemala. Because it’s such a rich, sippable rum, it rarely gets the cocktail treatment. But here, we’re changing that. By pairing Zacapa 23 with lemon, honey and a handful of spices, we’ve got a unique, flavorful drink that’s equal parts luxurious and refreshing. Good stuff.

Bright Eyed Fizz
  1. Combine all ingredients (except sparkling water) in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.
  2. Strain contents into a highball glass over fresh ice.
  3. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a lemon wheel.
