New Year’s Eve Cocktails

New Year’s Eve. It’s a crapshoot, and when it goes wrong, it can go very, very wrong. But at its best, it’s a Champagne-fueled celebration of what was and what shall be. Or something. Either way, you’re going to need good drinks. For that, try one of these New Year’s Eve cocktails. See below for the recipes, then whether you’re having a party or just barring yourself indoors and waiting for 2016, you’ll ring in the new year with a good drink in hand.

Jubilee stoli elit cocktail

1.5 oz elit by Stolichnaya
1.5 oz dry red wine
.5 oz St. George Spiced Pear
.25 oz maple syrup
.25 oz lemon juice
1 oz seltzer

Build in a glass with ice. Top with seltzer and garnish with a pear fan and grated nutmeg.


old cuban cocktail


1.5 oz Bacardi 8
.75 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
6 whole mint leaves
2 dashes Angostura bitters

Muddle lime juice, simple syrup and mint in a mixing glass. Add rum, bitters and ice, then shake well. Fine strain into a cocktail glass and top with 2-3 ounces of Champagne.


gin mare perfect martini


50 ml Gin Mare
25 ml Lillet Blanc
.5 ml salt solution (20g sea salt dissolved in 100ml water)
1 small whole strawberry

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass for 20-30 seconds until the drink is chilled and diluted appropriately. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a strawberry.


tequiliano sauza cocktail


2 oz Sauza 901 Tequila
1 oz Campari
1 oz sweet vermouth
.5 oz agave syrup

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir with ice. Pour over fresh ice in a double rocks glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

    Did you really mean 1/2 milliliter of salt water, not Five ml?
