There’s no time like the holidays for a stout glass of bourbon-spiked milk punch. And Fruity Pebbles, well, they’re good all year round. So let’s join the two together, and see what happens. We’ll give you a hint: it’s a hybrid concoction that’s part cocktail, part breakfast and fully delicious. And it’s easy to make if you want to experience the nostalgia for yourself. Just follow the recipe below, and you’ll soon be pouring yourself a glass of this stuff–or a bowl, if you’re going the spoon route. Either way, now you’ll always have an excuse to begin your day with bourbon.
Fruity Pebbles Bourbon Milk Punch
1/2 cup Fruity Pebbles Cereal
6 oz whole milk
2 oz bourbon
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Combine Fruity Pebbles and milk in a cereal bowl. Allow to sit for 30 minutes, then strain out milk and discard cereal. In a cocktail shaker, combine the Fruity Pebbles-infused milk with bourbon, vanilla extract and ice. Shake until frothy, about 30 seconds. Strain into a double-old fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with an optional dollop of whipped cream, a dusting of nutmeg and sprinkle of cereal.
