Blue Ice Vodka Review

blue ice vodkaBlue Ice American Vodka is produced by Idaho-based 21st Century Spirits. It’s distilled from the local bounty – Idaho Russet potatoes – and cut with mountain spring water.

Blue Ice Vodka is created in a four column still, which allows the master distiller to remove impurities without stripping away all taste and texture. It’s then filtered five times to achieve clarity.

On the nose, Blue Ice is layered with sweetness and mild earthy notes. There’s some alcoholic burn, but nothing too intense. Take a sip and the vodka is sweet and smooth with a round and creamy mouthfeel. It’s mostly neutral, though, and other than some warmth and a slight bite, it goes down clean.

I often prefer potato vodkas over their grain-distilled counterparts. Blue Ice is no exception. It’s still somewhat alcoholic and medicinal, and neutral in flavor, but look closely and you’ll find some character supplied by the good ol’ American potatoes. It’s a solid buy at $20.

    Blue Ice,
The Vodka is great but the cap is not, it seems more often than not, difficult to get on and off, my advise is that Vodka of this quality should be corked!
