facundo eximo rumThe Facundo Rum Collection comprises four hand-blended sipping rums from Bacardi. We reviewed the entry level Facundo Neo, a silver rum, last year and found a lot to like. Next up in the collection is Facundo Eximo, a blend of medium to heavy bodied dark rums that are married prior to going into the barrel. The blend is then aged for 10 years in white oak.

Facundo Eximo Rum pours amber in the glass. On the nose, it’s full of vanilla, caramel, toffee and burnt brown sugar. Let it sit for a few minutes, and hints of orange and chocolate show themselves. Taking a drink, it’s silky on the palate. It’s a lush, rich drinking experience with lots of sweet vanilla and dark chocolate. Mid palate, the oak stands up and balances the sweetness with a welcome touch of dry wood. It finishes long and smooth, with more of that vanilla, chocolate and oak.

This is luxurious sipping rum at a price point that won’t make you choke. So far, we’re squarely impressed with Bacardi’s Facundo Collection, and we’ve still got two more rums to try.
