An Apple Cocktail a Day…

You know all those sayings about apples and doctors? Well, we’re not sure if the same logic applies to apple cocktails. But we’d like to think it does. So while apple picking season is in full effect, we’ll increase our intake of the fruit by any means necessary. In this case, by incorporating it into our diet via apple spirits, apple cider or apple cocktails like you’ll find below. Here’s to your health.

Delicious calvados Sour

Delicious Sour

2 oz Christian Drouin Sélection Calvados
.75 oz lemon juice
.75 oz apricot liqueur
.5 oz egg white

Dry shake all ingredients. Then add ice and shake again. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist or dehydrated apple slice.


Orchard Ovation apple cocktail

Orchard Ovation

1 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
1.5 oz dry vermouth
1.5 oz apple cider

Build in a highball glass with ice. Top with soda water and garnish with apple slices.


warm embrace cocktail

Warm Embrace

1 oz Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey
1 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
.5 oz fresh pressed apple cider
.5 oz fresh lemon juice
2 oz Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea

Build in a glass. Serve warm and garnish with an apple slice.


Mack's Apple cocktail

Mack’s Apple

1.5 oz Mezcal Amaras Espadín
1 oz apple cider reduction
.5 oz fresh lemon juice
.5 oz cinnamon-chipotle syrup
Dash of apple bitters

To make apple cider reduction: boil apple cider until it reduces in volume by half. To make cinnamon-chipotle syrup: bring 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and 3 cinnamon sticks to a boil. Remove from heat and let steep for 20 minutes. Add chipotle powder to taste and mix well. In a mixing glass, add ice and shake with all of the ingredients. Strain over new ice and serve in old fashioned glass, grating fresh cinnamon over the ice.
