star of autumn cocktail

You look like you could use a drink. Because that’s the best thing to wash you clean of election season and to start moving in a new direction–one where rum is involved. So here’s the very autumnal Star of Autumn, a rich and delicious combination of rum, applejack, maple and lemon. The rum in question is Facundo Neo, a blend of medium-to-heavy-bodied rums aged up to eight years, and then filtered to remove any color.

With its apple and maple flavors, the drink tastes like fall and can be a real contender for featuring on your Thanksgiving menu this year. Or just apply it in liberal doses on cool evenings, around fires or literally whenever and wherever else you enjoy topping up your body’s rum levels. Here’s how to make it…

STAR OF AUTUMN

1.5 oz Facundo Neo Rum
1 oz Laird’s Applejack
1/4 oz maple syrup
1/4 oz lemon juice

Shake all ingredients with plenty of ice. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with an apple wheel.
