The Habit Cocktail Recipe

irish coffee cocktailCocktail Enthusiast has teamed up with the good people at Cocktails & Classics, the LOGO TV show that combines good drinks with classic films. Each week, Michael Urie and friends will take a close look at campy, quotable movies like Clue, Showgirls and Sister Act while drinking CE-provided cocktails.

The April 16 episode is a double feature with Sister Act and Sister Act II. So tune in, and drink up. To keep things thematic, we’ve got the Habit, which is basically an Irish coffee. Because nun attire is black and white. You get it. And for the sequel, try the rum-spiked Habit Is Back.

The Habit

1.5 oz Irish whiskey
.75 oz demerara syrup (brown sugar syrup)
4 oz fresh brewed coffee

Add brown sugar syrup, then whiskey, then coffee to a warmed Irish coffee glass, and stir to combine. Briefly shake or whip heavy cream with a pinch of sugar to thicken, and slowly pour a layer on top to form a cap. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

Cocktails & Classics airs Sundays at 8/7C.
