Even in the midst of a craft tequila boom, the tequila category continues to offer some real bargains with many quality options priced under $30. And in some cases, these value buys are actually better than their more expensive, fancier-packaged shelf mates. So below, we’ve rounded up five of our favorite tequilas that you can regularly find priced at or under $30.

Tequila Tapatio has been a Mexican treasure for nearly 80 years, but it didn’t hit the US market until 2012. Known for its earthy, peppery character, this highlands tequila is straightforward and really showcases the agave. It enjoys a cult-like following among bartenders, and it’s a great addition to your home bar, too.
Espolon Blanco has long been one of our go to value bottles. It’s sweet and creamy with balancing hints of pepper and agave. It’s smooth enough to drink straight, if that’s your thing. Otherwise, pour a bottle into a batch of margaritas and don’t feel bad about it, because you likely purchased it for under $25.
Gran Centenario Plata
Gran Centenario Plata is aged in French Limousin oak for 28 days, which yields a lightly colored tequila that’s rich on the palate. Drink up to find notes of earthy agave, vanilla, cocoa and mild oak.
Gran Centenario Tenampa Azul Reposado
Tenampa Azul is a different brand from the Gran Centenario tequila above, but one that still falls under the same umbrella. The only reposado to make this list, it’s very smooth with notes of wood, vanilla, earthy minerals and light smoke. And often found for less than $20, it’s one heck of a bargain.
Olmeca Altos Plata
Hailing from the highlands of Jalisco, Olmeca Altos Plata has herbal notes of cooked agave on the nose, and flavors ranging from citrus and tropical fruits to sweet vanilla and pepper. It’s bright, it’s clean and it makes a lovely cocktail.
