Sparkling Cocktails for New Year’s Eve

As the ball drops, countdowns begin and people start angling for their first kiss of 2015, do you really want to be drinking warm Champagne from a plastic cup? If your answer is yes, well, you’re probably a lot of fun. Enjoy yourself out there. But if you’re looking to spike your Champagne with a little something extra, we’ve got five New Year’s Eve cocktails for your consideration.

LE PREMIER BISOUS

1 oz D’usse Cognac
.25 oz Crème De Menthe
1 barspoon Averna
2 oz Brut Champagne

Combine cognac, Crème de Menthe and Averna in a shaker. Pour into a Champagne glass. Top with Champagne and garnish with a lime twist.

Santa's Sleigh cocktail

SANTA’S SLEIGH

1.5 oz Reyka Vodka
0.75 oz Art in the Age Rhubarb
0.75 oz lime juice
0.5 oz strawberry puree

Shake with ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe. Top with one ounce brut Champagne and garnish with a dried lavender sprig.

CASA SANTO DOMINGO

1 oz Zacapa XO Rum
.25 oz Orange Liqueur
6 dashes Angostura Bitters
3 dashes Peychaud Bitters
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Champagne
Orange twist

Combine first five ingredients in a cocktail shaker, and stir gently with ice. Strain contents into a cocktail glass, top with Champagne and garnish with an orange twist.

reserve royal aperitif

RESERVE ROYAL APERITIF

1 oz Appleton Estate Reserve Jamaica Rum
.5 oz honey syrup (2:1 honey to water)
.5 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
3.5 oz Champagne

Combine all ingredients, except Champagne. Add ice, then shake and strain into a flute. Top with Champagne and garnish with a long strip of lemon peel.

THE HAPPIEST

1 oz Aperol
.5 oz PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
.5 oz sour cherry syrup
2 dashes Mole bitters
Fernet Branca

Stir first four ingredients with ice, then strain into a Fernet Branca-rinsed flute. Top with Champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.
