Recently, we sampled Selvarey Rum, a new player from Panama that’s producing two products: Selvarey White and Selvarey Cacao. They’re good. So when the time came to make some rum punches for National Punch Day (it’s September 20th, and it’s yet another holiday we can firmly endorse), we turned to Selvarey. Both of the below recipes are easy enough to make at home, assuming you’ve got access to a liquor store and a large bowl.

First up: a delightful punch that employs the complementary trinity of rum, pineapple and Green Chartreuse.

Selvarey Rum Punch

1 bottle of Selvarey White Rum
1 cup pineapple, chopped and charred on the grill
8 oz pineapple juice
2 oz Green Chartreuse
1.33 oz Angostura Bitters
13.33 oz demerara simple syrup
16 oz water

In a large punch bowl, add the chopped and charred pineapple. Add ice and all of the liquid ingredients and stir. Top the punch with plenty of lemon slices for garnish.

Next up, we’ve got a French-inspired punch from Pour Vous, the Parisian cocktail lounge in Hollywood. It adds Calvados and lots of citrus to the mix for an extra dose of flavor and vitamins.

Le Normandy Punch Bowl

12 oz Selvarey White Rum
8 oz Calvados
8 oz lime juice
12 oz pineapple juice
12 oz orange juice
4 oz grenadine
6-7 dashes Angostura Bitters
Apple slices

Mix all ingredients in a bowl with lots of ice. Add apple slices, orange slices and mint. Garnish each glass with an apple slice.
