Mojito Recipe

mojito

The Mojito is a classic rum drink that still holds up today. A refreshing mixture of rum, lime, mint and soda, the Mojito traces its roots back to Cuba. And while it occasionally gets some flack (poor iterations from disinterested bartenders don’t help), let’s not forget that Ernest Hemingway himself–a formidable drinker by anyone’s definition–regularly enjoyed these rum drinks as a longtime Havana resident.

Mojito

2 oz white rum
.75 oz fresh lime juice
.75 oz simple syrup
8-10 mint leaves
Club soda

Lightly muddle mint in a shaker tin. Add rum, lime and sugar, and shake with ice until cold. Strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice. Top with soda and garnish with a mint sprig.
