Introducing Pendleton 1910, a 100% Canadian Rye Whiskey

Pendleton Whisky just announced the launch of Pendleton 1910, a 12-year old 100% Canadian rye whiskey. We reviewed Pendleton’s Blended Canadian Whisky last year with lukewarm results, but we’re always intrigued by rye whiskeys, especially of the 100% rye variety.

From the company –

Featuring round, rich notes of tobacco, charred oak and butterscotch with a spicy rye kick and peppery heat, Pendleton 1910 Rye Whisky is rounded out by the smoothness of maple and sweet cherry to provide a weighty and balanced, yet complex, flavor profile.

The Pendleton 1910 name pays homage to the year of the first-ever Pendleton Round-Up and comes packaged in an iconic 750ml bottle with unique and intricately embossed detailing reminiscent of tooling on a saddle and features the famous Pendleton Round-Up bucking horse.

Following release in Oregon, national distribution of Pendleton 1910 will begin in October. Limited quantities will be available annually and will sell for approximately $39.95 per 750ml bottle.

Pendleton is imported, bottled and marketed by Hood River Distillers, the company that’s also behind Broker’s Gin.

Hmm, the 3rd, by my count, new 100% 10+ Year old Canadian Rye hitting the market. I have it on good authority that Jefferson’s Rye is from the same source as Whistle Pig, and furthermore that it’s an 11 year old to WP’s stated 10 (but possibly an 11 year old itself). Any idea if this is from the same source as the other two?

Whoa,I just had a couple of oz.’s (Pendleton 1910)and I AM impressed, like I mean REALLY IMPRESSED with this “RYE WHISKEY”!
I (for the most part) drink my whiskey “NEAT” and ONLY on the “ROCKS”for a change. The Pendelton 1910,I drank “straight up” and was blowin’ away with the taste!I drink some of the “FINEST” RYE whiskey in Canada and this just might SURPASS them ALL!

Pendleton 1910 has a fine nose of sweet fruit and vanillans and a slight bite (more a tickling nibble, really) on the tonque and palate as it warms and soothes the throat, leaving the mouth cleansed and fresh.

Deceptively smooth, even neat at room temperature, one quickly gains a pleasant headiness within seconds.

A first rate sipping whisky that stands alone extremely well.

For me, I serve it in a tumbler at room temperature, sans ice, sans water, sans guilt.

The fact you use that language, and vulgarity to describe another great tasting whiskey not only discredited your statement, but you as well. Making you seem very childish. Your pallet is different from millions, so please
