Everything you need to know about the strangest-named tool in a bartender's arsenal.

The newest booze publication on our radar is The Hooch Life, which aims to help drinking enthusiasts discover and appreciate the craftsmanship, availability and appeal of craft spirits.  Founded in late 2011, The Hooch Life has already made some waves, with good feature content and — most recently — a video series dedicated to craft distillers. We always appreciate insights into the birthplace of the spirits we drink and the people making them.

The video series, aptly titled, “The Distillers,” profiles Finger Lakes Distilling, Peach Street Distillers, Ransom Spirits and Tuthilltown Spirits.

The below video focuses on Peach Street Distillers, a group of enterprising chaps we met at the Manhattan Cocktail Classic. They’re a small operation located in Palisade, Colorado, where they make a handful of solid products, including bourbon, gin, vodka and fruit brandies. For their efforts, they were named the 2012 Distillery of the Year by the American Distilling Institute.
