It’s Friday. And we’re very busy. Well, sort of busy. You know, drinking cocktails and such. So in the spirit of saving time — and displaying a graphic we could never create ourselves — let’s take a look at this whiskey-centric infographic provided by the fine folks at Wine Folly.

It follows a whiskey barrel from the time at which it’s a healthy oak tree (one tree makes about two barrels), to it’s important job as the receptacle holding your sweet hooch. And molding it into that mature, full-bodied beverage you know and love.

We can’t think of a better reason to chop down trees.
